Overview

The Continuing Education department of Columbia Journalism School [@columbiajourn] will host its second annual Social Media Weekend with Professor Sree Sreenivasan [@sree] leading a series of workshops, panels and keynotes to help journalists, media professionals and others understand social media better. Last year more than 200 people from around the country attended various parts of the weekend, which will again be a fun, interactive, multi-day learning experience filled with new-fangled tools and services. Sprinkled with  old-fashioned networking too.

In addition to panels and workshops, there will be a continuous group of social media doctors offering digital makeovers for beginners to pros, with tips and feedback in one-on-one and small-group sessions. A professional photographer will also be present to capture head-shots for your social media profiles. Additional workshop topics include using social media for job hunting, news gathering and branding.

We welcome students of all levels and from ANY industry. Companies sending participants should contact Keith Olsen, program administrator of continuing education at kso2107@columbia.edu to discuss group discounts.
